Here’s What You Should Do When All You Want To Do Is Quit

Most of us have been there: a particularly hard day when nothing seems to go as planned. On these days, it seems like you should just give up. I, like many of you, know these days all too well. I still have them quite frequently.

When I have these days, I turn to a quote by Dr. Carl Jung for wisdom.

Let me explain this quote.

The wall is the challenge behind your desire to quit. What is causing you to want to give up? Are you not seeing results as fast as you’d like? Are you doubting your ability to see the goal through? Are you just plain unmotivated today?

In order to know what is behind your desire to quit, you need to take a moment and reflect. That’s the gold in this quote.

When you feel overwhelmed, be still and be quiet. Wait.

In this moment of quietness, you give yourself permission to seek the answers. It only takes a few seconds to decide to quit, but a lifetime to build something worth having. Quitting is easy, but giving yourself the opportunity to grow and see over this challenge is not. You need to do it anyway.

As you’re reflecting, you can decide what your next steps will be. If you’re in doubt, think about why you started in the first place.

You owe yourself the chance to think it over.
